That was the week that was! Our first ‘Dram and draw’ class in The Bothy was a great success. Fun and educational with the talented Dylan Gibson. Next was a tasting in Aberdeen for group we have known for a number of years now, and lastly we ran the bar in Pitlochry Town Hall for our local Rotary club’s Stovie Supper. Looking forward to hosting a tasting next week for the Royal Scottish Country Dance Society who are having their annual Winter School here in Pitlochry. A bus start to the year. 😁

Spent a couple of days immersed in the amazing people, companies and drams that make Scotland’s whisky best in the world. Judging in the Scottish final of the 2026 World Whiskies Awards at the fascinating Scotch Whisky Experience. Comparing notes and having in depth debates about the ridiculous levels of tax and lack of support for one of Scotland’s most important sectors. Then to the awards ceremony at the Signet Library where the we celebrated the success of many whisky distillers, coopers, brand ambassadors and company owners. A night of celebration. Let’s keep the ‘whisky’ conversation going. It’s a wonderful product. Thanks to Jamie at One Cask at a Time, for hosting me on their table.
