Tasting the WHISKY at Robertsons of Pitlochry! Mr. Ewan McIlwraith, owner and whiskey expert, at Robertsons of Pitlochry provides excellent service to local consumers and tourists visiting Pitlochry! Located on High Street this establishment houses old vintages of prominent whiskies as well as other liquors, wines, and after dinner specialties. Whisky tastings can be scheduled by appointment. Mrs. Donna Grant, manager, is well versed in all the finest that Robertsons has to offer including gifts appropriate for connoisseurs and beginners. Several evenings Robertsons opens the BAR to the delight of customers. As an American woman I have learned much about whisky from Donna, David, and Ewan! We enjoy tastings regularly as we attempt to educate ourselves and most importantly our PALATES! We highly recommend a tasting for you at Robertsons of Pitlochry! Charlene and Robert Stuart
Warm welcome with expert help. Being a relatively inexperienced in the world of single malt whisky I now have a few different single malts from either independent bottlers or distilleries. Always looking for further variety in single malts I can recommend this Whisky and Gin Merchants 100%. Knowledgeable, pleasant and friendly staff willing to give time and patience when making a purchase. I will definitely be returning next time in Pitlochry.

Highly recommend Robertsons of Pitlochry! I went through Pitlochry with a five day tour group and had a whisky tasting at Robertsons of Pitlochry. It was such a fantastic experience and Donna, who ran it, was amazing - so friendly, funny and kind. Donna was knowledgeable and it was an absolute pleasure experiencing and tasting the various whiskies on offer. Highly, highly recommend! 
Excellent scotch and gin tasting at Robertsons in Pitlochry with John We had a gin and scotch tasting with John. He promised an experience we wouldn't forget and he was right! The whiskey and gin were all excellent and the information John provided was perfect! We would definitely go back and highly recommend this for anyone interested in tasting and learning about Scotch whiskey and gin. 
A good pit stop in Pitlochry A friend and l had a lovely afternoon with John and Ewan on a Gin tasting experience with a lovely cheese board.John and Ewan were very friendly and very knowledgeable made our experience very special,Would highly recommend. Robertsons gin was the winner of the day !! 
Check it out as really friendly Decided to try one of their spirits and ended up staying all night. Hospitality of staff ( Donna & Ewan) was absolutely first class. Gave us a wee tour of all the diff types of spirits ( tried a few) . There were locals with guitars having a brilliant sing song. Give it a try if in the area. Was really good night 
Fabulous Customer Service A regular visitor to Robertsons when in Pitlochry, I bought a bottle of Signatory Vintage Craigellachie 10 year old using the website. Unfortunately, when this was delivered by the carrier, it was clear that it was broken. I refused the delivery and it was returned. I called Ewan and explained the situation and he promised that he would put things right. True to his word, he sourced another bottle for me and within a short space of time I received it. His understanding, calm manner and the fact that he clearly values his customers is what sets Ewan, and the rest of the team at Robertsons, apart from others. Many Thanks. 
Gin, whiskey and great banter If you think this just another sipping gin and whiskey afternoon, think again. John delivers an enjoyable, engaging and educational hour of the how, why and when of the art of drinking and tasting these delicious delights.We sipped, we laughed, we learned. We cannot recommend this experience enough. Whisky and gin tasting We booked the whisky and gin tasting experience as part of an anniversary celebrations weekend.Our guide through the experience was John, highly knowledgeable, friendly and we would quite happily have spent longer in his company to hear more.The experience itself was very enjoyable in a lovely setting. Learned lots and was a very pleasant afternoon. His female colleague in store (sorry we didn't get her name), was also lovely and helpful when browsing in store. 
Great whisky tasing Great Whisky Tasting My wife and I did an afternoon tasting with John that was brilliant. What was so good is they do gin and whisky at the saltine so we could both enjoy our different spirits. And being the only whisky drinker amongst the 4 taking part John tailored the drams finishing off with an Ardbeg Uigedail. Sublime 
Ewan has encyclopedic whisky knowledge! Visited as a whisky club of 8 seasoned whisky drinkers for a 5 dram tasting with Ewan. We thought we knew a bit about whisky but Ewan’s knowledge was an amazing and we learned a great deal while sipping 5 very nice whiskies. It’s worth saying that as a group of friends with some banter going on, Ewan picked up in our sense of humor and joined in seamlessly. We spent a very enjoyable hour and a half in Ewan’s company, and all for a very reasonable price. Highly recommended. 👍 
John Galt, Robertson Fine Whisky Connoisseur generates a new Single MaltScotch Whisky convert My friend and I wanted to learn about whisky before we left Scotland. My thoughts had been to wait til the duty free at Edinburgh Airport. John Galt, a charming whisky expert, recommened that we come to a whisky tasting to savour the “Life’s waters” of Scotland. He stated I could always get clothes and to toss my luggage to make room for some fine whisky. We did attend and are so happy that we had the experience. The 5 choices were: Dalwhinnie, Edradour Caledonia, Glencadam, Glen Scotia and Isla Storm. John’s guidance, descriptions and fervant appreciation of how to savour gave us a rich, deeply Scottish recognition of the elements to tasting. We are both so pleased that we took his tasting afternoon. I learned how to appreciate the peatier whiskies that I would have declined. I did donate clothes to the charity shop and came back to Canada with Edradour 12 year old Caledonia and Edradour Ballechin. These will give me years of reliving the John Galt Whisky Tasting at Robertson’s Fine Whisky Emporium. 
Amazing tasting, great price, delicious, and fun! My buddy and I did a whiskey tasting at Robertsons of Pitlochry. John was absolutely amazing! We really wish we would have brought our wives. We tasted 5 Single Malt Scotch Whiskeys and learned so much about how Scotland creates it, what region it's from, and how to properly taste it. John was extremely professional and funny. I highly recommend this experience if you are in Scotland! I have done more than 10 tastings and this was by far the best! 
Pitlochry surprise to discover your tastebuds. What a surprise. Recommend by family this was a completely unexpected joy. Looks like a purveyor of fine spirits from outside, which it is, but it’s so much more. John introduced us to Gin tasting. Who even knew that was a thing. Discovered a whole new side of why Gin is like it is. Not to mention I’ve been doing it wrong all these years. Donna can find you a perfect bottle to drink or keep. If you’re in Pitlochry, or within 50 miles, book a visit. You won’t be disappointed. It’s not just Gin, they can enlighten you to Whisky and other delights. Do it, you won’t be disappointed. 
Beautiful shop, great tasting and amazing Donna We are a group of whisky lovers from the Netherlands. We arrived on a Thursday afternoon at almost closing time. The lady in the shop, Donna, invited us in. We had a laugh and a few sips and promised we’d be back. The next day we had a tasting. Fantastic whiskey tasting experience! Had a fantastic whiskey tasting session with John… learned so much and have a new appreciation for the art of the craft. Learned how to better savor the varieties and flavors that each distillery brings to the experience. Highly recommend doing this if you’re curious about Scottish whiskey varieties! 
A Pitlochry Essential. This was a highlight of a short stay in Pitlochry. We visited on our first evening and were thrilled there was a music session taking place. Ewan’s advice for whiskies to accompany the music was first class. On our second and third visits, we were hosted and entertained by Donna whose unfussy enthusiasm for whisky was intoxicating. If you know nothing about whisky, you’ll learn a lot in a short time from Donna. If you know a little or more, you’ll still find out so much. 
Whisky Tasting Must An unexpected treat. Donna and Scott treated us to a great tasting of whisky and gins. Hospitality was first class. A place you must visit. 
Great choice of beautiful bottles of whisky. Beautiful shop with a wide selection of whisky. Many brands are not available in the Netherlands. Be surprised and forget about the offers on the ferry to IJmuiden.

Whisky with the guys Excellent selection of whiskies and John (our guide) and the owner were both very friendly and knowledgeable! I definitely learned something new about whisky and the tasting was bad either 🫣 
Single Malt Scotch Tasting We had a very enjoyable time learning about single malt whiskeys from John. He demonstrated the right way to sample and drink scotch. (Yes, there is a wrong way.) An added bonus was that our table was shared with folks doing a gin tasting, so we got the benefit of that as well. Altogether a well-spent afternoon. 
Very good whisky tasting experience We had the most wonderful whisky tasting with John Galt. He explained the Whisky process for a single malt and how to taste whisky. It was a very enjoyable afternoon! The whole staff was so friendly and amazingly wonderful! This is a great place to visit,have a tasting and buy some fabulous whisky 🥃

John was a great host and guided our group through our gin and whisky tasting experience. Very knowledgeable and an experience not to be missed if you're visiting the area. Great shop too for you to bring a bottle or two home with you! 
Must stop in Scotland A fabulous tasting curated by John taking us through 5 different whiskeys . He gave us a history of scotch, tasting decorum and introduced us to 5 different whiskeys we don’t often get back in the states. Much better than any distillery tour.
