An unusual vintage Islay single malt bottled by Highland Queen, rumoured to be a Bunnahabhain. One of 258 bottles.
Highland Queen Majesty 23 Years Old 1989 is a limited-edition single malt from an undisclosed Islay distillery. The lightly peated whisky was distilled in 1989 and bottled in 2013. It is rich and creamy on the nose, with aromas of smoke, stewed apples and fruity cereal. On the palate, gentle peat combines beautifully with sweetness for a perfectly balanced profile. Since her return to Edinburgh in 1561, Mary Queen of Scots—The Highland Queen—has been a symbol of the independent spirit of Scotland. The Highland Queen brand, named in her honour, was created in 1893 by Roderick Macdonald and is known for its premium blends and occasional single malt bottlings.
