Cask 1 of 7. The first Port cask filled at Strathearn. Bottle number 7 of 116, 7yo and bottled at 52.9% abv Cask 2 of 7. The first Rum cask filled at Strathearn. Bottle number 7 of 132, 7yo and bottled at 57.7% abv Cask 3 of 7. The first filled with Strathearn Peated Spirit. Bottle number 7 of 58, 7yo and bottled at 54.8% abv Cask 4 of 7. STRATHEARN DISTILLERY Founder's Collection 7 bottles all numbered 7

Scotland’s tiniest distillery started operation in 2013. Located in the village of Methven, close to Crieff in Highland Perthshire, it occupies a set of former farm buildings.

Production comes from an 800-litre wash still, and a spirit still with a 400-litre charge. Even the casks are tiny, only holding 50 litres – the industry standard is 200l. Flexibility has been the aim of its owners and, in common with many other new ‘craft’ start-ups, it produces gin and rum, as well as whisky.

In October 2019, it was announced that independent bottler Douglas Laing & Co had acquired Strathearn outright for an undisclosed sum – making it the company’s first distillery acquisition. Strathearn’s gin and rum products will still be available, under the ownership of a new business, The Whisky Garden Ltd.
